How to play?
Nature Challenge - Lost Civilizations
Example of a battle:
The Egyptian civilization lasted for 3070 years... Can it win the battle against the Greek civilization? Yes! The Egyptian civilization lasted longer (the Greek civilization lasted 1055 years). However, the degree of importance of a civilization at its peak (the moment of its maximum development) can reverse the situation during battles! If a player's civilization had fewer people than the player who initiated the round, they can change the confrontational characteristic.
Nature Challenge - Bees and Other Pollinators
Example of a battle:
The European bee measures 1.25 cm... Can it win the battle against the black garden ant? Yes! The European bee is the longest animal (the black garden ant measures 0.5 cm). However, the degree of threat to species can reverse the situation during battles! If a player's animal is more threatened than the player who initiated the round, they can change the confrontational characteristic.
Nature Challenge - Freshwater Animals
Example of a battle:
The Asian small-clawed otter weighs 3.2 kilograms... Can it win the battle against the spotted salamander? Yes! The Asian small-clawed otter is the heaviest animal (the spotted salamander weighs 22 grams). However, the degree of threat to species can reverse the situation during battles! If a player's animal is more threatened than the player who initiated the round, they can change the confrontational characteristic.
Nature Challenge - Saint-Martin
Example of a battle:
The hawksbill turtle weighs 80 kg... Can it win the battle against the Lesser Antillean iguana? Yes! The hawksbill turtle is the heaviest animal (the Lesser Antillean iguana weighs 3.2 kg). However, the degree of threat to species can reverse the situation during battles! If a player's animal is more threatened than the player who initiated the round, they can change the confrontational characteristic.
The highlight of Nature Challenge - Saint-Martin is that it includes a leaflet presenting innovations inspired by the animals featured in this Nature Challenge - Saint-Martin edition. For example, the structure of the toucan's beak inspired an energy-saving kettle. The technique used by the morpho butterfly to regulate its temperature led to the development of a varnish that protects solar panels from overheating.
The game "Challenges of Nature: Inspiring Animals" was developed in partnership with ADEME, the ecological transition agency.
